Divine Alignment
One of the greatest aspects of the stories that come out of this ministry is that only God could align the details so perfectly.
Before Tyler became one of our board members, he wanted to see firsthand what was happening. During his trip he had so many questions, so we encouraged him to explore freely at the brick kiln — to ask questions and open doors until he understood everything.
Typically, when we visit these sites, the slave owners confine most of the slaves to their homes to prevent them from seeing others being set free. They know that allowing hope to enter a person's life changes everything. So the slaves remain indoors until we leave — only to be forced back to work afterward.
While we were walking around visiting the families we planned to free, Tyler disappeared. He wanted to go inside the houses.
Suddenly, he called for me to come and meet him.
The whole family was forced to work even harder. Tragically, one of her sons had recently fallen while carrying bricks and fractured his arm. She was crying, overwhelmed with despair.
Right then and there, Tyler decided to pay for the hospital bills and buy this family out of slavery.
I don't know why we entered that particular home — it wasn't part of our plan. But God knew.
